"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

(Henry James)

Do you enjoy that fine tradition of taking Afternoon Tea which was obviously a passion of the nineteenth century essayist and critic Henry James? If you do... then come and join us at Marlagh Lodge on a Sunday afternoon.

We serve Afternoon Tea on one Sunday each month (usually the second or third Sunday) in the comfortable and elegant surroundings of the Drawing Room, Dining Room and Morning Room of this grand old country house.

The afternoons are hosted by Robert Thompson, the owner of Marlagh

and by Judith Cowan, who established the Tearoom @ Marlagh.

The focus of the afternoons is on Judith's delicious savoury food and fabulous home-baking.

Afternoon Tea has become something of a phenomenon over the last few years

and Marlagh offers a level of intimacy and sense of exclusivity seldom found elsewhere.

As one of our guests recently commented "Such a a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Beautifully crafted food in gracious and elegant surroundings".

We will be serving Afternoon Tea on :

Sundays : March 5th, April 23rd, May 14th and June 11th
